WWE Changes The Names Of Two NXT Stars
Say hello to Katana Chance and Alba Fyre...
For those forever unhappy whenever WWE changes the name of an established talent, get ready to start slapping your forehead in frustration.
As per PWInsider, NXT 2.0 stars Kacy Catanzaro and Kay Lee Ray have been given new ring names. For Catanzaro, she's now to be known as Katana Chance. As for former NXT UK Women's Champion KLR, she has been given the new moniker of Alba Fyre. Trademarks were filed by WWE for both new names on 12 April.
Catanzaro can these days be found teaming with Kayden Carter, with the pair last in action at last month's NXT Roadblock show as they lost in the semi-finals of the Dusty Classic to Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray. For Ray, she last competed at NXT Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania Weekend. There, she - along with Shirai and Cora Jade - came up short in a fatal four-way match for Mandy Rose's NXT Women's Championship.
These changes follow in the footsteps of Raul Mendoza recently becoming Cruz Del Toro, Austin Theory becoming simply Theory, and Raquel Gonzalez becoming Raquel Rodriguez as part of her call-up to the SmackDown roster.
