According to Michael Cole, former MMA hard arse Cain Velasquez is the first man ever to debut in a WWE Championship match. A quick scour of history reveals that this is true. Nobody else has ever had their very first WWE-branded match for that belt.

This sort of insane stat is becoming a common theme for wrestling in 2019.
