WWE Declares October 'Kane Month', Celebrates 25 Years In Company
25 years in WWE means Kane gets his own month, apparently.
WWE has officially declared October "Kane Month", doing so to celebrate the Big Red Machine's 25th anniversary in the company.
Per the promotion, #Kane25 will be celebrated throughout the next few weeks, with WWE set to produce special editions of WWE Top 10, WWE Playlist, nostalgia content, and more.
Glenn Jacobs, the man behind the gimmick, has been with WWE since February 1995, when he worked as Mike Unabomb. The disastrous, universally-panned Isaac Yankem, DDS and Fake Diesel gimmicks followed before the big man found his spot as Kane in 1997. Reintroduced and repackaged at Badd Blood: In Your House that October, he starred in a memorable re-debut during his kayfabe brother The Undertaker's Hell In A Cell match with Shawn Michaels, ripping the door off the structure and hitting 'Taker with a Tombstone Piledriver.
The 55-year-old is active only on a part-time basis in 2022. His last appearance came at SummerSlam 2022, where he announced the premium live event's attendance figure.
Jacobs is more preoccupied with political affairs than wrestling these days, having been elected Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee in August 2018. This August saw him re-elected for a second term.
