WWE Draft Set For Later This Month
WWE confirms when this year's Draft will be taking place.
With previous rumblings that this year's WWE Draft will take place at some point in the next month or so, last night's Raw saw the 2024 Draft officially announced for the end of April. To be specific, the Draft will take place on the 26 April SmackDown and the 29 April Raw.
Adam Pearce, Nick Aldis, and NXT General Manager Ava were all featured on Raw, with the three talking up the potential changes they could make to their respective brands. Interestingly, it seems that NXT will be able to bring in Raw and SmackDown talents, in addition to NXT names obviously being in the conversation for a move to the main roster.
In terms of those NXT names who could be making the jump to Raw or SmackDown, it looks like Ilja Dragunov's time with the developmental brand will soon be coming to an end. The current NXT Champion, the Mad Dragon made his Raw debut last night, defeating Shinsuke Nakamura in impression fashion. On commentary, Michael Cole noted how Dragunov will be a part of the upcoming Draft, meaning a call-up is imminent for the 30-year-old.
Elsewhere, Raw also saw NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez notch up a victory over Indi Hartwell, though - unless your writer missed it - there wasn't any direct mention of the Prodigy being involved in the Draft. Still, it wouldn't be any major surprise if Perez did end up as part of the Draft later this month.
