WWE Drops Hints That Bayley Could Return To TV Soon (WWE News)

Bayley was name-dropped on WWE Main Event, of all places. Could the comeback be on?

WWE announcers Vic Joseph and Blake Howard dropped Bayley's name into the conversation during a match between Lyra Valkyria and Wren Sinclair on 'D' show Main Event (Raw being 'A', SmackDown being 'B' and NXT being 'C') this week. That has led some sleuths out there to believe that it's only a matter of time before the 'Role Model' returns to television.

Bayley hasn't been seen since losing to ex-tag partner Valkyria at Saturday Night's Main Event on 18 July at Madison Square Garden, but she has worked a couple of Triple Threat bouts vs. Lyra and then-champion Sol Ruca for the Women's Intercontinental Title on house shows since.

On both occasions, Bayley attacked Valkyria before her match vs. Ruca, which turned them into Triple Threats. That's something Joseph brought up on Main Event, which is interesting; WWE announcers don't talk about live events a whole lot. They never really have done unless something truly special (like a title change, injury or comeback) happened on them and it fits neatly into the story they're trying to tell.

There have been reports about Bayley possibly leaving WWE once her contract expires later this year. Wrestling Observer boss Dave Meltzer had reported that it was up "in a couple of months". AEW has been touted as a likely destination due to her close friendship with Mercedes Mone, and there's probably no doubts that Tony Khan would be thrilled to bring her in.

Joseph and Howard's comments, albeit on a lower-tier WWE show, might throw cold water on that for some fans.
