WWE have seemingly entered a formal working relationship with European super-indie Westside Xtreme Wrestling, according to Sebastian Hackl (a member of WWE's German announce team) on Twitter.

The news has since been corroborated by the Wrestling Observer, and the relationship already appears to be bearing fruit. WWE Performance Center coach Robbie Brookside recently spent time at wXw's wrestling school in Essen, Germany, working with 20 hopefuls ahead of WWE's next set of tryouts in November, as documented in an official website post.

wXw is one of the most buzz-worthy independent promotions in the world. Home to the likes of Austrian mega-bruiser WALTER, Ilja Dragunov and Jurn Simmons, it is best known for the annual 16 Carat Gold tournament, which has become a destination event for hundreds of European wrestling fans, and regularly highlights the global scene's brightest talent.

It's thought that the WWE/wXw partnership will work similarly to existing relationships with PROGRESS, ICW, and EVOLVE. The German promotion have already been a happy hunting ground for Triple H and Vince McMahon, with the likes of Marcel Barthel, Killer Kelly, and Alexander Wolfe all making their names there before inking WWE deals.
