Watching Trish and Lita raise one another's arms aloft in celebration had a sense of finality to it. This was as much their moment as the younger generation's, and it was a reward for sticking through some booking that'd probably make WWE blush nowadays. T&A, live sex celebrations and all that.

Once Alexa Bliss pulled out of the match, there was no other ending that made sense. Before that, it seemed logical that Bliss would pull a fast one on her elders and they'd symbolically pass the torch to her. With Alicia Fox in her stead, Alexa could watch on (smiling inwardly, no doubt) as her childhood heroines had one last hurrah.

Giving Trish and Lita a crowd-pleasing win was the absolute best way to start off Evolution. That was a pressure spot too, and it's one both legends lapped up as their careers came full circle. Sometimes, it's good when wrestling is happy, uncomplicated and appreciative.
