With WWE Payback now out of the way, attention can turn to WWE's most 'extreme' event of the year. I'm talking of course about WWE Extreme Rules, and whilst we may have come out of Payback already in the know regarding the main event, the rest of the card began to take shape last night on RAW.

Along with Roman Reigns and AJ Styles clashing for the WWE World Championship in an Extreme Rules match (a ruling that makes little sense considering the outside interference in the Payback match), three other championship matches were inked onto the card last night. After Enzo Amore's injury at Payback it seemed inevitable that the Vaudevillains would move into the #1 contenders spot for the tag team titles, and their title shot against The New Day has been confirmed for the May 22nd event.

Natalya will get a rematch against Charlotte for the Women's Championship, only this time the match will be contested under Submission match rules. The pendulum has swung further in the direction of Lady Neidhart with the ruling that Papa Ric Flair will be banned from ringside. Will Charlotte finally get hers?

Rusev was the last man standing in a battle royal to determine the #1 contender to the United States Championship, and as such will take on champion Kalisto at Extreme Rules. I say this, it's most likely that Rusev will challenge Kalisto for the title on the Extreme Rules pre-show.

There are plenty of other rumoured matches for the show, including what seems like an inevitable four-way for the Intercontinental Championship that would see champion The Miz defend against Cesaro, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Expect Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin to go at it once more too, along with some form of battle to keep Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and the Usos busy.
