2. Why Even Call It Extreme?!

In 2017, with the PG Era in full swing, why does this PPV name even exist? It's a lie that is perpetuated on the back of unextreme matches masquerading as something from the olden, bloodier days. Kendo stick on a pole match? Extreme sounding, but there won't be many connections and one of the stars won't know how to be extreme.

Cage match? Sounds extreme. But there's a door. Mixed tag match? Have a dancing bit.

It's almost as if all of the rules were there to distract from the Extremeness, which makes the title all the more confounding...

it's never going to be like the olden days, and persisting with that title just makes the parallel even more frustrating...
