WWE Greatest Royal Rumble: 10 Things They Got Right

So, was the Greatest Royal Rumble a glorified house show souped up to appease WWE's new friends in the Middle East? In a word, yes, yes it was.

Even so, the event played before a largely enthused crowd (they understandably dipped a little towards the end of a mammoth five-hour run time) who were audibly excited to see legends like Triple H, John Cena, The Undertaker and Chris Jericho, as well as other top stars they recognised from TV such as Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan.

Indeed, anyone who has stuck around post-WrestleMania 34 to check out more WWE content could be forgiven for believing the company puts on this kind of stadium show every month. They don't, of course, but the combination of huge venue, unique cultural flavour and 'Mania levels of pyro made the show a success aesthetically.

In the ring, it wasn't much to shout about beyond a nice WWE Title bout and a hot ending to the 50-man Rumble. That doesn't mean WWE, for all the worries about how the show would play out, didn't get things right with the layout/booking...
