The Hall of Famer revealed as much during a recent appearance on the Two Man Power Trip. The 50-year-old, who underwent spinal fusion surgery earlier this year, stated that he has been coaching wrestlers and producing matches, helping sculpt the next generation of WWE talent.

Said Dudley (h/t Fightful):-

"I'm with NXT right now. I'm a coach, behind the scenes, I'm also a producer and help put the matches together and things like that. I have a few titles, coach, producer, I'll think of the third one later. I'm just having fun, working with the younger talent and helping them to carry on the legacy of pro wrestling. You have myself, Terry Taylor, Fit Finlay, Robbie Brookside, Norman Smiley, and a lot of other guys that have moved up from talent to producer. Shawn Michaels, of course, and Matt Bloom. We're having a good time and getting these kids to where they have to be."

D-Von started working for WWE as a producer in 2016. In 2018, he and kayfabe brother Bubba Ray were inducted into the company's Hall of Fame, cementing The Dudley Boyz' legendary status in the promotion.

2019 saw D-Von taking time away from the promotion after suffering a stroke. This year, his doctors decreed his back's condition was worse than originally expected, forcing him to go under the knife to have his L4, L5 and L6 spinal segments fused together.
