WWE Hall Of Famer Greg Valentine Hates Women's Wrestling

“I’d fire every girl wrestler I ever saw."

By John Canton /

WWE Hall of Famer Greg "The Hammer" Valentine recently appeared on Filsinger Games€™ The View podcast and had some very negative things to say about women's wrestling. Here are some of his quotes:
"As far as girl wrestling, I would send them all out to the strip bar and fire €™em."
"I€™d fire every girl wrestler I ever saw. They don€™t draw any money, they have horrible matches. Uh€they€™re terrible. That€™s the way I feel." "They take away jobs from men that need to support their families. They should be home washing dishes and cooking and pregnant and barefoot." "I love women€but they gotta realize their place. They€™re not supposed to be wrestlers. They€™re not supposed to be MMA fighters or boxers. It€™s bulls**t."
There's no way for anybody to defend what Valentine said because it's bad and a viewpoint that will absolutely offend a lot of people, as it should. It's pretty ridiculous to say he would fire them and that women should be washing dishes and cooking. It sounds like a heel wresting promo, but his further comments show that it's what he truly believes. He's a 63 year old man that came from a different era where women's wrestling wasn't portrayed the same way that it is today. Valentine started wrestling in 1970, retired in the 1990s and was inducted in WWE's Hall of Fame in 2004. To publicly say the stuff that he did is pretty embarrassing. It's not like Valentine has a prominent role on WWE TV anymore, but chances are the company will keep him far away after these comments. Anybody that watched the Bayley vs. Sasha Banks match from NXT Takeover knows that women's wrestling is as good as ever right now in WWE. It's just a guess, but Valentine probably didn't see it.
