This year's Hell in a Cell PPV event is pretty much the textbook definition of a wildly mixed bag. On one hand all three of the cell matches delivered on expectations, while basically the entire undercard felt like a total afterthought.

At least most of the non-cell matches were simply short breathers between the more expansive title bouts, one of which delivered some of the finest in-ring storytelling WWE has put out all year.

Most impressively, each of the three cell matches managed to feel different enough from each other, ensuring WWE managed to avoid the expected audience fatigue. Three in one night is probably overdoing it, but the distinct style of each fight was a smart approach to keep things changed up.

The main event outcome certainly sets up some interesting possibilities moving forward, even if the result definitely won't be to everyone's taste.

If you're about to catch up with the show, save yourself an hour of your life and just skim past the other four matches, because the titular bouts are really the only thing here worth your time...
