WWE Icon Says Jon Moxley Feud Sent Him To "Dark Places" Mentally
A scrapped WWE rivalry with Jon Moxley put this wrestling legend in a mental funk.
Mick Foley found himself getting "legitimately angry" when brainstorming ideas for his cancelled feud opposite Jon Moxley back in early-2012.
The 'Hardcore Legend' told Busted Open Radio that Triple H was actually the one who first approached him about getting involved in Mox's rise from NXT hopeful to WWE main roster sensation; 'The Game' laid the story out as "a grassroots thing" that'd "get steam solely on the internet at first".
That piqued Mick's interest, but he quickly went to some "dark places" when he thought about what he and Jon might be capable of. His troubled mindset actually reminded the Hall Of Famer of a time when he was mentally frazzled by some things ECW fans had been saying about his young son Dewey in the mid-1990s.
WWE wanted Moxley to insult Foley's family too, which only made things worse. Mick told Busted Open's hosts that he dropped "more F-bombs in front of the family than they had ever heard in the entirety of their lives". He was genuinely angry at Jon for a short spell, and he didn't think it was healthy.
That's an incredible admission - Foley was super into the abandoned story.
