WWE Interested In More TNA Stars For NXT?

Will Austin Aries end up in WWE?

By John Canton /

World Wrestling Entertainment has some interest in current TNA Wrestling stars specifically for the NXT brand, reports the Wrestling Observer. They are trying to find out what TNA talents have contracts that expire soon. This is a different way of doing business than what WWE was doing in the past when they reportedly didn't have much interest in TNA talents. Now that they have signed former TNA star Samoa Joe and have rumored interest in AJ Styles although he is busy working for Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling.A current TNA name that reportedly has an expiring deal is Austin Aries. WWE passed on him in the past, but with their new philosophy with NXT it's possible that he might be brought in. The reason WWE has more interest in signing TNA talents is because WWE wants their NXT brand to have more live events all over America and the rest of the world, so in order for those live events to be better they need more experienced talents to work those shows. A lot of the talent on NXT aren't that experienced or simply unable to have great matches at live events at this point. It makes a lot of sense to bring in some TNA names if they can offer them a nice deal. For TNA talents, it's a chance to get in the WWE door. While it might not be a full time main roster deal right off the bat, it could certainly turn into something like that as we've seen with Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe. Also, with the future of TNA in doubt the talents might be more willing to explore other options.
