WWE Interested In Signing Top AEW Act? (UPDATED)

UPDATE (20 April, 7 AM BST): Fightful's original report has now been updated following AEW's confirmation that FTR's contracts have over a year left to run.
WWE may be considering making a play to bring a former tag team back to the company.
Per Fightful Select, WWE has at least expressed an internal interest in bringing in FTR once Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler's contracts with All Elite Wrestling expire. As things stand, that would be sometime in summer, though AEW has a one-year option on FTR's deals that may yet be activated.
News on this clause being exercised or an all-out contract extension is expected in the near future.
FTR have been with AEW since debuting on the 27 May 2020 episode of Dynamite. They wrestled their first match a few weeks later, defeating The Butcher and The Blade, and were crowned World Tag Team Champions by defeating Hangman Page and Kenny Omega at All Out 2020 that September. In November, The Young Bucks ended FTR's short reign in their long-awaited tag team dream match.
Harwood and Wheeler currently reign as ROH and AAA World Tag Team Champions. Recent weeks have seen them tease coming for the AEW straps (currently held by Jurassic Express) as well.
A team since 2014, but with a friendship predating that, Harwood and Wheeler originally competed together as The Mechanics in WWE. They later became The Revival, forging an acclaimed body of work on NXT, highlighted by big matches against American Alpha and DIY, before being sent to their main roster in April 2017. There, FTR fared considerably worse, ultimately leading to them declining extensions worth $850,000 prior to leaving the market leaders in 2019.
