WWE Interesting In Signing Top NJPW Star?
WWE's hunger for new talent never sleeps, it seems.
New Japan Pro Wrestling's SANADA can currently be found grafting his way through the toughest tournament in wrestling - the G1 Climax - and it sounds like he's attracted heavy interest from the other side of the Pacific Ocean.
Per Voices of Wrestling, WWE's longstanding interest in the talented Los Ingobernables de Japon member has resurfaced:-
SANADA currently sits on a 3-4 record in the G1 Climax. He has two matches remaining, but is technically out of the running despite toppling IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada on 3 August, having fallen to the 'Rain Maker' in each of their previous six bouts (stretching back to May 2016).
Long pinpointing as a future NJPW main-eventer, SANADA has encountered significant pushback from western fans in recent years. He's over as hell in Japan, but his big matches don't always resonate to the same level among foreign viewers, so the timing of WWE's latest bout of interest is intriguing.
Nonetheless, it's easy to see why Vince McMahon would be interested in the 31-year-old. He's smooth as butter between the ropes, handsome, technically sound, and gets over with live audiences, despite the criticism thrown at his stoic character.
