WWE Is Expecting Something Big From AEW Over WrestleMania 43 Weekend... (WWE News)
Those WrestleMania watch parties, AAA and NXT shows in the United States are happening for a reason.
WrestleVotes on Fightful Select has heard that WWE is currently prepping itself for a major AEW announcement over WrestleMania 43 weekend. No, Tony Khan won't be taking his All Elite crew over to Riyadh in some sort of bold attempt to piggy back on the local excitement, but he could put on a major show in the United States.
That's apparently why WWE/TKO decided to announce 'Mania watch parties, AAA's Eternal Glory and NXT Stand & Deliver 2027 so far in advance. They're also scheming a massive watch party at the Infosys Theater annexed to Madison Square Garden.
So, is Khan cooking something killer up on the AEW side? It's possible. Of course, running anything opposite a box office monster like WrestleMania is supremely risky, but the rules may have changed due to WWE taking their biggest annual PLE blockbuster international.
This wasn't included in the WrestleVotes/Fightful write-up, but there's a solid chance that 'Mania 43 will air earlier than usual domestically. In other words, Khan and AEW could well put on their own big event in the evening and create a festival of pro wrestling everyone can enjoy.
The risk might be worth the reward if he can pull it off and get the timing right.
Fightful's exact wording was that WWE top brass will be "expecting Tony Khan and AEW to have a significant presence somewhere in the USA during WrestleMania 43 weekend". This could get tasty over the coming months if All Elite chiefs announce something in due course.
