WWE: Kane's Top 7 Tag Team Partners

By Martin Perry /

6. The Hurricane

Kane and The Hurricane (Gregory Helms) formed an unlikely alliance in 2002, winning gold as a comedy team, of sorts, known loosely as 'HurriKane'. The two were paired together on the September 23 edition of Monday Night Raw and they defeated Christian & Lance Storm for the World Tag Team titles, courtesy of simultaneous chokeslams on their opposition. Kane single-handedly defended the titles two weeks later on Raw, in the 2002 Match of the Year, overcoming three other teams (Bubba Ray & Spike Dudley, Chris Jericho & Christian and Jeff Hardy & Rob Van Dam) in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs (TLC) match. The Hurricane had been attacked earlier in the evening by Triple H & Ric Flair and was unable to compete. Their three week reign, however, came to an end a week after that, when they lost the titles to Chris Jericho and Christian. Kane would then go onto feud with Triple H and the team were no more. Although their alliance was more brief than that of Kane and Mankind, they were more of a team and more entertaining in the sense of a comedic standpoint, with such spots as the aforementioned double chokeslams. The Hurricane character benefited as a consequence and would later go on to face The Rock in the main event of Monday Night Raw in early 2002.
