WWE Legend "More Comfortable" In AEW
This WWE Hall Of Famer admits AEW has "a very important indy vibe", but he likes it there.
Rob Van Dam likes the "very important indy vibe" that AEW has going on, and says he's "more comfortable there" than he's ever been when popping up in WWE.
The WWE Hall Of Famer told listeners tuning into his podcast that All Elite is "less grandioso" backstage, but he views that as a good thing. In fact, RVD believes the way Tony Khan runs his operation behind the scenes "seems less complicated" than over on the other channel.
That may have changed since Triple H assumed full control of WWE, but Rob can only speak to his own experiences when Vince McMahon was calling the shots. He thinks AEW carries less "pressure" and the people there simplify what's expected of workers coming in for TV.
Van Dam has been booked several times on AEW TV since the promotion launched, but also snagged a WWE Hall Of Fame spot as part of the 2021 class. His last WWE match came all the way back in 2014 (vs. Seth Rollins on Main Event).
Rob recently wrestled Swerve Strickland in a hardcore bout on the 31 January edition of AEW's flagship show Dynamite.
