Wrestling icon Ric Flair was hospitalised after what TMZ Sports described as a "medical emergency" yesterday morning, and there have been several conflicting reports on his status since then.

Per the original report, 'The Nature Boy' was in Atlanta, Georgia when "something when wrong," and he was taken to the emergency room for treatment. TMZ reported that the situation was "very serious." Specifics weren't forthcoming, but it didn't sound good.

This story was countered when Flair's son-in-law, Conrad Thompson, told a media call that Ric's situation wasn't "as grave or serious" as the original report made out, and claimed the 70-year-old had been taken in for a planned procedure ahead of a scheduled trip to Las Vegas:-

Pro Wrestling Sheet's Ryan Satin has since followed up with another counter, writing that Flair's latest issue related to recent heart problems, and that his condition was "more serious than Thompson is letting on."

Finally, Flair's wife, Wendy Barlow, issued the following statement to TMZ:-

"Due to ongoing health complications, Ric was taken to the hospital and is expected to undergo a procedure tomorrow morning, after which he expects to fully recover."

The volume of conflicting reports makes it tough to know what to make of this situation. Regardless, let's hope that 'The Nature Boy' is able to overcome whatever it is he's dealing with, and that today's procedure is a success.
