WWE Legend Says Some Wrestling Fans Are Wrong About Him
A WWE icon says some wrestling fans and industry insiders "don't like the truth".
WWE Hall Of Famer Bret Hart has long-been considered one of the most gruff and negative voices around amongst most pro wrestling fans, but Hart has defended himself against those claims; the 'Hitman' told 'Sunday Night's Main Event' that he's actually "a pretty satisfied and content person".
Bret says some people just "don't like the truth", or that he's unafraid to speak it whenever he's asked to give his opinion on something past or present.
When pressed to explain further, Hart added: "Sometimes it’s not necessary to be so honest, but sometimes it’s important to put things into the proper perspective". The icon has felt that way his entire career, but things were exacerbated following the infamous 'Montreal Screwjob' at Survivor Series 1997.
Suddenly, Bret found himself up against the might of Vince McMahon's propaganda machine, and he refused to back down. That steely determination, he says, has been misconstrued by some as a bitter old veteran who just struggles to be happy.
Closing, Hart said "the truth hurts", and that a lot of people (fans and industry insiders alike) can't cope with that reality.
