Wrestling legend Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat has revealed he turned down the opportunity to become a road agent for AEW as he doesn't want to be on the road anymore.

The WWE Hall of Famer revealed as much during a virtual Facebook signing session for Captain's Corner. Steamboat stated that while the pay was great, Ricky, at this stage in his life, is trying to get off the road - not back on it.

Said Steamboat (h/t Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online):-

"Believe this or not, I was already asked to come on board [with AEW] in the capacity of [a road agent]. No reflection on them, great company and everything. And don't get me wrong, the pay was going to be great but I'm at a point in my life where I'm trying to get off the road."

Steamboat, 70, has appeared for AEW in the past, serving as a guest timekeeper on the 17 August 2022 'House of the Dragon' episode of Dynamite.

A former WWE Intercontinental and NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Steamboat turned down the opportunity to appear in Ric Flair's final match last year, though he ended up teaming with FTR against Brock Anderson, Jay Lethal, and Nick Aldis in November. This was his first match since June 2010.
