Cody Rhodes' signature ring entrance was changed on last night's episode of WWE Raw, with the former AEW star seemingly no longer hitting the arena via elevator.

WrestleMania 38 and the following episode of Raw saw Rhodes come through the stage using the lift, as he had done for the bulk of his AEW run, though there was no rising-up on this episode. Instead, Rhodes was unveiled through a cloud of smoke and a burst of pyrotechnics around the entrance tunnel, standing stationary before the tron rather than coming through the floor.

Whether or not this was a permanent change remains to be seen. The core premise is the same, too, with Cody's presence not being revealed until his entrance theme hits full flow, though it represents a significant switch regardless.

Cody has maintained the majority of elements from his AEW presentation in WWE, including the Downstait entrance track and ring attire. The new entrance is the first major deviation from that.

Rhodes wrestled his first Raw match in six years last night, defeating The Miz in relatively straightforward fashion. Elsewhere, it was confirmed that he will rematch with WM38 opponent Seth Rollins at WrestleMania Backlash 2022 on 8 May.
