WWE Money In The Bank: 10 Awesome Moments

5. Plethora Of Near Falls In Owens vs. Cena

The hallmark of a great match in modern-day WWE is one which has a lot of time and energy invested into the layout. To his credit, John Cena often excels in this category, the man really knows what it takes to put together a solid WWE-style main event - his ring work may take a slagging, but Cena has had good-to-great matches with everyone from CM Punk and Triple H, to The Great Khali and Umaga. Cena is over, and that's something Kevin Owens has only reaped benefits from, becoming more and more over himself as a result of working with the current United States Champion. As the reigning NXT Champ, Owens has been a revelation since being called up to work with his more famous opponent, and he hasn't looked out of place in there with the franchise player of the entire company. During their war at Money In The Bank, Cena and Owens traded many super-close near falls. Getting mad at referee Mike Chioda for what he felt were surefire winning counts, Cena showed a lot more human vulnerability throughout the bout than he arguably has for years. No, he didn't come up short, but he did sell for Owens, which is real progress, and that only helped the near falls, many of which tricked the crowd.
