WWE & Netflix Partner Up For 'The Big Show Show'
Paul Wight turns Sitcom Star.
Netflix have announced that The Big Show will star in a 10-episode multi-camera sitcom about a fictional version of himself, with production commencing on August 9.
"The Big Show Show" is being made in partnership with WWE Studios following the recent announcement that the two sides would work together on feature film "The Main Event".
The official press release confirmed the plot would follow a rather familiar formula for the genre. Netflix official listing stated as follows; "When the teenage daughter of The Big Show, a retired world-famous WWE Superstar comes to live with him, his wife and two other daughters, he quickly becomes outnumbered and outsmarted. Despite being 7 feet tall and weighing 400 pounds, he is no longer the center of attention."
The series will star Show (real name Paul Wight) as well as Allison Munn, Reylynn Caster, Juliet Donenfeld and Lily Brooks O'Briant. Show's previous credits include several guest-starring roles on shows such as SyFy's "Happy!" and "Van Helsing" during the channel's hosting of SmackDown Live.
The live-action comedy comes from WWE Studios and writers "Happy Endings" writer Josh Bycel and "LA to Vegas" scribe Jason Berger. The pair will act as executive producers and showrunners alongside WWE Studios' Susan Levison and Richard Lowell.
