WWE Network Pull List: 10 Must-See Matches And Shows (May 11)

4. Bruno Sammartino Vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage (WWE Prime Time Wrestling - February 13, 1987)

Bruno Sammartino was a shell of the performer he was during his prime by the time 1987 rolled around, but that by no means suggests he was not still incredibly popular with audiences.

A special attraction of sorts, he still laced up the boots on occasion. When the loud, pompous and cocky "Macho Man" Randy Savage made the mistake of getting on his bad side, The Living Legend returned to the squared circle to teach the brash intercontinental champion a lesson.

The main event of the February 13 episode of Prime Time Wrestling was far from a great wrestling match. In fact, it was not even particularly good.

So why should you go out of your way to check it out? Simple: two of the greatest and most recognisable professional wrestlers ever did battle in the main event of the awesome Monday night predecessor to Raw.

Savage was at his heel best using Elizabeth as shield early while bumping all over the ring for an ageing Sammartino. He was at his finest, a master craftsman who could make any opponent's offense look legitimate while simultaneously getting under the audience's skin. He was an exemplary heel who would get past Sammartino and head to WrestleMania III to battle Ricky Steamboat.

Check out the pre-Valentine's day bash to witness just how extraordinary a performer Savage was before he ever won the WWE title or was an established, credible headliner in his own right.
