Lizzy Rain has been hit with gimmick theft claims just three weeks into her run as a televised WWE wrestler.

"GIMMICK INFRINGEMENT," wrote 'Scrap Metal' Phil Noir on X (formerly Twitter). "The Fed thought they could steal my gimmick and give it to some broad and get away with it."

Noir, whose tongue appears to be firmly planted in his cheek with this one, continued: "I was "The Heavy Metal Kid" at Extremly Xtreme Wrestling in Jackcrack, Georgia from April 03 to May 03. DO YOUR DAMN RESEARCH Originality is dead."

The post came with a side-by-side comparison of Rain and Noir:

Rain, 28, signed with WWE in early 2026, having tried out for the market-leading promotion after SummerSlam 2025. Named the MVP of her tryout, the London, England native had previously broken out on the British independent scene as Rayne Leverskusen. Amongst other accolades, she entered WWE as a former PROGRESS Women's Champion and Pro Wrestling: EVE Tag Team Champion.

The niece of former Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr, Rain has distinguished herself on the independents and in WWE with her metalhead gimmick. While not the first to do so, she is currently the most prominent.

Fellow wrestling metalhead Warhorse also chimed in on the non-controversy: "WELL SHE ACTUALLY STOLE IT FROM ME… HOWEVER I ACTUALLY STOLE IT FROM THAT GUY."

Lizzy Rain is currently 2-0 on WWE television, having beaten Nikkita Lyons one-on-one on NXT's 28 April episode, then pinning Lyons again in a tag match last night (12 May).
