Erick Rowan will be out of action for six months due to a torn bicep that will likely require surgery, according to PWinsider. There's no official update from WWE at this time. The injury occurred during a match on June 19 in Saginaw, Michigan against Cesaro. The injury wasn't noticeable during the match, which was won by Cesaro after a Giant Swing and then a Sharpshooter as a tribute to his injured partner Tyson Kidd.
It was noted by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer that Rowan and his partner Luke Harper were going to be moved into the WWE Tag Team Title picture very soon. They were booked strongly for a few weeks after they were reunited and even given the 3D finishing move that they were calling "The Way." It's possible that they would have beat the Prime Time Players to win the titles. It's been a bad few months for WWE tag teams: Jey Uso has been out since April due to shoulder surgery that will keep him out for about six months, Tyson Kidd is out for at least a year after neck fusion surgery this week and now Rowan's gone for the rest of the year. All of those injuries could lead to some NXT tag teams being called up to the main roster soon. For fans wanting a Wyatt Family reunion, it's not going to happen this year with Rowan out of action, but it could be something WWE tries next year when he gets back.
