WWE Night Of Champions: 10 Awesome Moments

3. Kevin Owens Cheats To Win Intercontinental Title

Legendary announcer Jim Ross regularly gives his opinion that there aren't enough genuine heels in WWE. Citing the likes of Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins as examples of villains who don't cheat enough, Ross uses Kevin Owens as a picture-perfect example of one who does bend the rules. Night Of Champions provided a tremendous finish that proved JR's point. Raking Ryback's eyes, Owens promptly rolled up his opponent and beat him for the WWE Intercontinental Title. After the match, Owens remarked backstage during a promo that he had no time for people complaining about the manner in which he bagged the belt. That's the way a heel should be acting, an arrogant cheat who is blissfully ignorant of what people think about him. People were happy enough to see the man's hard work be rewarded, and the Ryback experiment wasn't really working anyway. The next challenge is finding a babyface strong enough that fans want to see him dethrone Owens. Cheating to win has often given way to heels simply running away from the good guys in WWE, so it was nice to see 'KO' represent heels properly.
