WWE No Mercy 2016: 10 Awesome Moments
10. Curt Hawkins Announcement
Curt Hawkins only made his return to WWE a few months ago, playing the role of a super self-obsessed heel who narrates himself to the ring and comes across like a typically egotistical villain. There's nothing especially wrong with that, Hawkins plays the role really well. At No Mercy, he had promised to step foot in the ring.
The heel lived up to his word, yet hilariously didn't wrestle. Instead, he fulfilled his promise in the most literal sense. Pointing to the entrance ramp, Hawkins watched as a burst of fireworks brightly blazed. The celebration was for absolutely nothing, and that fact somehow only made the segment more endearing.
Hawkins was only there to announce his plans to wrestle on the upcoming episode of SmackDown Live. That was it, there was no match for the man on either No Mercy's proper pay-per-view broadcast or the pre-show Kickoff portion.
Regardless of being complete throwaway, Curt Hawkins managed to entertain with his brief appearance. This character has potential if handled correctly. Hawkins himself seems to be having a ball.
