From 1999 to 2008, No Mercy was a yearly pay-per-view in WWE. It disappeared without reason, but in just a couple of months the event will return.

With WWE putting on more pay-per-views/special events with the brand split, WWE chose to bring back one of their retired B-shows to become a SmackDown brand exclusive on October 9th.

Tickets will be going on sale this upcoming weekend, with the event taking place in Sacramento, CA.

With SmackDown desperately lacking in star power, it will be interesting to see how they handle No Mercy. Hopefully, they're able to piece something together in the next couple months to make the blue brand's first brand exclusive show a success.

The last No Mercy was highlighted with a great Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho ladder match in the main event. The only active roster members who were on that card, and are still around full-time are Kane, Jericho, Mark Henry, The Miz and The Big Show.

For those holding out for a return for an October Halloween Havoc pay-per-view, you'll just have to keep on waiting.
