WWE NXT Announcer Released
An NXT name has departed the market leader.
NXT announcer Sudu Shah has been released by WWE.
Mike Johnson over at PWInsider.com was the first to report on this latest WWE exit, with it also noted how this was a case of WWE opting to release Shah.
Since that news broke, Sudu himself has taken to Twitter to confirm his departure and give thanks to those who supported him during his time with the market leader.
As Sudu put it:
"Yesterday was my final day with the WWE. What an incredible experience working with some of the most talented people I’ve ever met. Thank you to everyone who watched and supported every week!"
Sudu Shah had been with WWE for a year, having joined the company in January 2022. He was initially utilised alongside Nigel McGuinness on commentary for 205 Live, then was switched over to calling the action on NXT Level Up with Byron Saxton, and was also the host of the NXT Snapchat show.
Prior to WWE, Shah worked for FOX-5 in Atlanta, served as a sports anchor for WMC-TV in Memphis, and graduated in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Mississippi in 2016.
At this stage, there's no word on who will be replacing Sudu Shah on the NXT Level Up commentary team alongside Byron Saxton.
