In the wake of the recent #SpeakingOut movement, it looks like WWE could be pulling the plug on NXT UK.

Sportskeeda are reporting that the string of sexual misconduct, assault and harassment allegations made against various members of the current NXT UK roster have led to the company looking into permanently shutting down the brand.

At this moment in time, Ligero and Travis Banks are the only NXT UK wrestlers to be released from their contracts in light of the allegations. However, WWE are said to be monitoring some of the other stars on their roster who have been accused, such as current NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin.

Sportskeeda also notes that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon isn't exactly happy keeping NXT UK talents on the payroll when the brand isn't producing any new content. The report also mentions how NXT UK hasn't been largely profitable outside of TakeOver events, with BT Sport reportedly not paying a lot to air the programming, either.

Could this be the end of WWE's British project?

If so, will we see stars like NXT UK Champion Walter, NXT Women's Champion Kay Lee Ray and Toni Storm pop up on NXT or a main roster show in the near future?

Only time will tell, so stay tuned for more NXT UK updates.
