Tegan Nox has undergone major surgery for her third ACL tear in four years, WWE has confirmed.

Tweeting the following from the main NXT account, the promotion attributed it, in kayfabe, to an assault from Candice LeRae on last week's show:-

WWE had previously reported Nox's ACL tear as part of last week's NXT injury update video. These things are often gimmicked, however, making it difficult to take them as fact. Their tweet stands as official confirmation.

Triple H commented on the matter during yesterday's NXT TakeOver 31 media call, confirming that Nox, 25, had already gone under the knife.

The news must come as a bitter personal blow for Nox, whose promising WWE career has been continually derailed by serious knee issues. As reported in 2017, she was originally booked to win the first Mae Young Classic tournament before suffering a torn ACL, forcing her out until April 2018. She competed in the 2018 MYC but was hurt again, tearing her ACL, MCL, lateral collateral ligament, and meniscus in a match with Rhea Ripley, then mounted another comeback in June 2019.

Now, Nox is on the shelf once more. Best wishes to her in her recovery.
