WWE's creative inconsistencies have rarely been as vast (or as widely criticised) as they are in 2019, with Vince McMahon and his writing team barely out of the firing line these days.

This is understandable. WWE's disastrous, tumbling viewership is largely down to their output, and righting this course could be the only way back for a TV product that is failing objectively. Now, it looks like the promotion could be opening their process up to do this.

Per Fightful, WWE wrestlers are currently being encouraging to pitch more ambitious ideas to the writing team, with the idea being that they're now more willing than ever to try things they've never done before in order to refresh Raw and SmackDown.

On a similar note, Fightful have also reported that a number of backstage figures have attributed the 24/7 Championship's success to WWE being not as "strick or hands-on" with it. This suggests that the likes of R-Truth and Drake Maverick have been given increased freedom with the novelty strap.

It seems unlikely that Vince McMahon will ever relinquish his iron grip on WWE's creative output. Still, tapping into his roster's creative minds can't be anything but a good thing.
