WWE's talent pool is overflowing at the moment, but the company's thirst for new blood is unquenchable, and they've currently got two of wrestling's most buzz-worthy movements in their sights.

According to Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE are currently considering "making moves on opening communication" with wrestlers attached to New Japan Pro Wrestling and the upcoming All In event.

Meltzer mentions Rey Mysterio specifically, but given that he appeared in the 2018 Royal Rumble and speculation linking him with a WrestleMania 34 appearance, this is hardly surprising. No other names were brought up in the report.

Given the exorbitant amount of buzz surrounding NJPW and All In at the moment, it's easy to see why Vince McMahon might target these performers. Still, the likes of Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada, Cody, and The Young Bucks are all under contract. It'll be a while before they canlegally jump ship, and then there's the question of if they'd even want to.

WWE's exposure and financial clout are unmatchable, but would these performers feel creatively fulfilled in a heavily scripted environment? Conventional wisdom is that the most ambitious wrestlers want to work on the biggest stages, but boosting their bank balances may not be an immediate concern for these guys.
