WWE Producer Adam Pearce Tests Positive
Another name joins the suspected "two dozen" cases in WWE.
Adam Pearce has become the latest WWE employee to confirm he has tested positive for the illness currently ravaging the planet.
The 42-year-old tweeted the following earlier today:-
It was the poor guy's birthday yesterday.
Broadcaster Renee Young was the first to confirm a positive test result, doing so last night. This came on the back of a Pro Wrestling Sheet story stating that multiple people within the company had been popped following last week's around of tests, and another from PWInsider stating that the true number was somewhere in the region of two dozen.
Per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, WWE is now testing its full roster of wrestlers and backstage workers at every single set of television tapings, having previously only conducted rudimentary temperature checks. Last week's tests were the first full set WWE had conducted since the global health crisis kicked off in March.
Young's positive result came from a non-WWE test. There is no word on whether or not Pearce is in the same boat.
Pearce has been with WWE since 2014. A former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, he rarely appears on camera, but did show up to give the SmackDown roster a rallying rah-rah speech on the 29 May episode.
