10. The "CM Punk Knocks Out Jericho" Chamber (Elimination Chamber '12)
This was a great match and truly the first on this countdown worthy of that distinction. R-Truth was eliminated early in a nice moment in which someone actually took the fall to CM Punk's flying elbow drop. Future matches benefited from the greater near falls created by it. Chris Jericho came in and was arguably the star of the match from then-on. Many expected that he'd win the match given his impending program with Punk for Mania 28. He eliminated Dolph Ziggler, who up to that point had shared in some of the better moments of the match with his superior bumping skills. The Miz was also in the match, probably wondering how he'd managed to go from main-event at Mania 27 to virtually irrelevant one year later. He had perhaps the near fall of the night when he hit Punk with the Skull Crushing Finale, only for Punk to kick out. Jericho and Punk had a nice exchange before the focus turned elsewhere. Jericho's elimination and subsequent thrashing of Kingston answered the question of how to eliminate Y2J without losing to Punk or winning the title. Creatively well played, it was. Having Jericho win the title, only to drop it back to Punk a few weeks later seemed unnecessary. They made the right call, giving Jericho the excuse that he never lost the match.
