WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (April 14th)
2. We Want Ryder
Eight days ago, Zack Ryder scored what was arguably the greatest win of his career when he climbed a ladder at WrestleMania to defeat six other men and claim the Intercontinental Championship. Ryder described the moment as the fulfillment of a childhood dream and the greatest experience of his life.
The following evening, Ryder celebrated on Raw with his father, but The Miz interrupted him. The two had an impromptu match, and Miz capitalized on interference from the returning Maryse to pick up the win. Ryder's contractually-mandated rematch came on the following Smackdown, and he failed to reclaim the title.
This week, Zack Ryder was nowhere to be found on Raw. His name was mentioned a few times when Cesaro and Kevin Owens fought to determine a number one contender to the Intercontinental Title, but the man whom many hoped was receiving a renewed push was simply gone. Those who feared the worse - that Ryder's victory would be quickly undone and he'd be back where he was before - appear to have been correct.
