WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (August 29)
10. Michael Cole's Max Moon Comparison
Yet again, Braun Strowman was booked to hammer a hapless jobber. This time, he went one step further after the match and actually removed the unfortunate victim's mask. On commentary, Corey Graves (who more often defends the heels) acknowledged that this was disrespectful, while also stating that few could do anything about it.
Strowman's foe on this occasion was Americo, a high-flying Cruiserweight style performer clad in the colours of the United States. His pre-match promo was cut short upon seeing Braun march to the ring, which was a nice touch. Elsewhere, Michael Cole compared him to a wrestler many fans have long-since forgotten.
In the early-1990's, fans were introduced to Max Moon. Wearing an outfit vaguely similar to Americo, Moon was a short-lived experiment originally conceived for Konnan, who was a major star in Mexico at the time. It was pretty random of Cole to reference the character, especially considering many watching wouldn't know who he was talking about.
Cole's Max Moon comparison ended quickly, he didn't talk about it again. Therefore, some may have failed to spot if it they weren't really paying close attention to the announcers.
