WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (May 9)
The hot streak continues!
With only three weeks between Pay-Per-Views, WWE delivered its penultimate edition of Raw prior to Extreme Rules. The central conflict still revolved around Roman Reigns and AJ Styles, and how each man and his backup would attempt to gain the upper hand leading into their second championship match.
Even more pressing, though, was the question of if Raw could continue to maintain its momentum. Since WrestleMania, the show has been on a definite upswing, but given the program's history - especially in recent years - any good episode could be the last for a while.
In the end, WWE delivered the goods. Despite some colossally stupid booking decisions (not one, not two, but three separate champions lost non-title matches to opponents who aren't even booked at Extreme Rules), the show kept a good pace and didn't feel like it went on too long. By and large, the segments on Raw felt like they were there for a reason, and on the whole show, only one thing felt like a true waste of time.
Implausibly, it's starting to once again become fun to be a fan of WWE. Raw is actually worth watching. Even if you caught the show, though, here are 10 things you may have missed from May 9th's episode.
10. Enzo May Be In Trouble
As a tag team, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady have a good routine. Though neither man is the most polished in-ring worker, Amore is one of the best promos to come to the company in a very long time. With Enzo as the mouth and the enormous Cass as the muscle, the duo makes a strong team.
Enzo Amore suffered a scary concussion at Payback, and he's still out of action. Meanwhile, Cass is still able to compete, and he's still seven feet tall. No matter how long WWE pays lip service to an AJ Styles or Kevin Owens push, Cass is the kind of star Vince McMahon dreams of making his champion.
Last week, Cass joined The New Day for a tag match and got a great reaction. This week, he knocked Chris Jericho out to open Raw up. It's clear that Cass is going to get a lot of opportunities, and the longer Enzo is out, the further behind he'll fall. Maybe it was only a matter of time before Cass got the push, but it's happening faster than anticipated.
