This week's WWE Raw Legends Night special drew a mixed response from fans and critics alike, with many praising things like WWE Champion Drew McIntyre's clash with Drew McIntyre, but criticising Goldberg's post-match appearance and surprise challenge for the gold.

Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the Goldberg/McIntyre confrontation ended up having to be trimmed as a result of Lee vs. McIntyre running over its allotted time. This would be why the former WCW Champion's words felt like they were responding to a promo that hadn't actually happened. Drew was supposed to talk after beating Lee, prompting Goldberg's arrival, though this needed to be cut.

Elsewhere, PWInsider have stated that Legends Night was originally set to open with an in-ring promo, though WWE changed their minds, with Hogan messing around with a smartphone backstage instead.

Another notable change also saw Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy removed from its intended main event slot, replaced by Lee vs. McIntyre. This ensured that the Goldberg/McIntyre face-to-face ended the night. Orton defeated Hardy in around 14 minutes, putting him down by countering a Twist of Fate into an RKO.

A holiday-related delay in reporting means we are still awaiting viewership information for Legends Night, making it impossible to determine its objective success or failure.
