Lead WWE announcer Michael Cole announced that babyface star Royce Keys will be on the shelf "indefinitely" due to injuries suffered during a 'Street Fight' vs. Jacob Fatu on the 3 August episode of Raw. Cole stated that Keys had suffered a bruised larynx and cervical strain at the hands of the 'Samoan Werewolf'.

Initially, fans had been confused as to whether or not these injuries were legitimate. According to The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, they...aren't. He says that WWE's announcement is an angle, and that Royce is perfectly fine. The Observer boss isn't 100% sure as to just how long Keys will be kept off television though.

Or really what the end game for this is.

It's possible that Triple H fancies booking Royce to bide his time and then roar back against Fatu at a later date. If that's the plan, then WWE top brass must surely be hoping that Keys is giving a monster (ahem) babyface reaction from live crowds when he does return.

Royce was stretchered out following the 'Street Fight'. WWE shot footage of that for their YouTube channel and social media accounts.

The ex-AEW man signed with WWE in January, but it's taken him a while to really get going on the main roster. He didn't debut as a regular on weekly TV until a few months after appearing in the 30-man Royal Rumble match. Since then, Keys has aligned with the likes of LA Knight and Solo Sikoa in a fight against The Bloodline, but the latter has seemingly just been forced to link back up with Roman Reigns, The Usos and Jacob.

Who knows what the future holds for Keys?
