If debuting at WrestleMania and defeating Chris Jericho in his first official match in WWE was the high point of Fandango's career, the last few months have to be the low point. After an ill-fated babyface turn in England, the sole purpose being to get the fans to reignite the Fandangoing craze that died well over a year ago, he has become irrelevant, doing absolutely nothing of note. Sunday night, he answered an open challenge by Heath Slater and did so to great...apathy. "I hate you, Fandango. I hate you so much, Fandango!" one fans exclaimed as the ballroom dancer took to the squared circle. That is hardly the reaction a babyface wants to elicit, regardless of his position on the card or how rarely he is seen on television. His work was hardly inspiring, either. Part of that was due to the lack of heat it elicited, the other the direct result of the fact that the character is far better suited to be a heel than a babyface. The current direction is not working, as indicated by the reaction to his entrance and response to his ring work Sunday night. He needs help, help that only WWE Creative can provide. If that means stripping him of the gimmick and starting from scratch, so be it.
