WWE have released The Revival from their contracts, effective immediately.

That the whole story can be definitively told in one line is perhaps the most surprising element of the news, but WWE even confirmed it themselves with the sort of succinct statement they used to trot out on the reg when release cycles were more familiar.

They said; "Effective today, Friday April 10, 2020, WWE and The Revival have agreed on their immediate release from WWE. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors."

Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson have been rumoured to be eyeing a WWE exit for the better part of a year, having allegedly first asked for their release while still dressed in their wrestling gear during the January 13th 2019 edition of Monday Night Raw. Their public unhappiness stretched beyond that after a 2017 main roster call-up failed to match expectations set by a scintillating run in NXT.

Details beyond the above on the terms of their release aren't yet clear, but the duo could well be the next and latest WWE escapees to seek their fortunes in All Elite Wrestling, if only to pay off a story they've been quietly telling for years. Teases of a dream clash between The Young Bucks and the pair have been thrown constantly after "F*ck The Revival" became an affectionate joke at their expense on Being The Elite in 2017.
