WWE Releases Announcer Kyle Edwards
Edwards is the second announcer fired this week.
Following news that WWE has terminated Rich Brennan, announcer Kyle Edwards took to Twitter on Friday to announce that he and the company had also parted ways.
Edwards was hired by WWE in 2014 and installed as host of the international programs WWE Bottom Line and WWE Experience. He's participated in a number of features on WWE.com, including "5 Things" and "This Week in WWE History," as well interviews with talent. Edwards has also appeared on the WWE Network's Raw pre-show.
Prior to his WWE hiring, Edwards worked in the wrestling industry under his real name, Arda Ocal. Since his teen years, the Ontario native has been working for local promotions as an announcer, commentator, interviewer, and promoter. He also worked for Dragon Gate USA as a ring announcer and commentator in the early 2010s.
In 2009, Edwards created and hosted Aftermath TV, a talk show immediately following Raw on Canada's The Score Television Network, and Aftermath Radio, a radio version of the program. WWE announcer Renee Young was also part of Aftermath, which featured interviews from a number of pro wrestling luminaries over the course of its run.
Edwards has also done commentary for mainstream sports, including football, soccer, baseball, boxing, and hockey.
