The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Persephone could be subject to an intense bidding war once her contract lapses with AEW and CMLL later this year. According to a write-up in the latest Observer newsletter, WWE has already expressed interest in signing her previously.

Now, the market leaders want to explore the option of bringing Persephone in as a free agent once 2027 hits.

Interestingly, Persephone only announced that she'd signed with All Elite in January 2026. So, in other words, she really hasn't got started with the company yet - Persephone's only match on mainline AEW TV since inking a full time deal was a TBS Title loss to Willow Nightingale on the 11 March edition of Dynamite.

Before that, she had notably worked opposite Mercedes Mone, Alex Windsor and Bozilla at the group's Forbidden Door 2025 pay-per-view last August. Away from the bigger shows like Dynamite and Collision, Persephone has been making a minor splash on ROH, but continues to wrestle for CMLL and on the independent circuit too.

Again, this isn't the first time that WWE has shown interest, but they might get their woman on this occasion. Of course, that all hinges on whether or not Persephone signs a brand new deal with AEW and/or CMLL, but it'd obviously be difficult to resist the lure of the biggest promotion on the planet.

WWE is keeping a close eye on her, if nothing else.
