WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that there's a bit of flapping going on behind the scenes at WWE regarding recent booking on SmackDown. Last Friday, Pat McAfee revealed he was the one who'd been guiding Randy Orton's heel turn over the phone - the announcer kicked Cody Rhodes in the balls, tore into modern WWE, then aligned with Randy.

To say it didn't go down well with fans or critics would be an understatement. Now, WrestleVotes/Fightful write that the creative team has "reworked" several elements of the story in time for this week's episode of SmackDown. It'll be interesting to find out what WWE has come up with here. What have they changed, exactly?

Everyone will find out this weekend.

The write-up also said there was "additional outside involvement that was speculated to be Jelly Roll". It's unclear whether this means the musician was going to go rogue and join both Randy and Pat himself, or if that meant he'd side with Rhodes after taking a few slaps from Orton for trying to make his pal see sense.

This wasn't included in Fightful's post, but it would make sense if a tag-team bout pitting Orton and McAfee vs. Cody and Jelly was incoming. That sort of thing could be up in the air given these reworks the website is talking about though.

Further, CM Punk's own fiery comments from Monday's Raw weren't factored into the equation when Pat joined with Randy. They're being called "an indicator of the shift and plans becoming fluid", and the report says "his comments were not a part of the plan as of the Friday of the Pat McAfee reveal".

The plot thickens then.
