WWE Royal Rumble 2016: 5 Reasons To Be Fearful

By Jamie Kennedy /

1. Triple H May Capture The WWE Title

Over the past few years, Triple H has been used as a part-time attraction when it comes to actually wrestling. His matches have been few and far between, usually restricted to major bouts against the likes of Sting, Brock Lesnar or The Undertaker. Entry into the 2016 Royal Rumble would mark his first appearance in the annual 30-man affair since the 2010 version of the event. There's a good chance he'll be a surprise entrant. If Triple H does enter into the match, it makes perfect sense that WWE would book him to upset Roman Reigns and become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. This is something that would annoy a lot of people in the audience, although it could play into WWE's hands. A negative reaction for a Triple H win is much better than catcalling over a Roman Reigns victory, for example. However, 'The Game' is portrayed as much more of an authority figure these days. He rarely wrestles, which would make his ascent to the title irritating for some fans. A character like Triple H doesn't need the title, but it seems like the promotion are determined to book a huge Reigns victory at WrestleMania that they hope will provide a feel good moment for fans. They should be wary - the WWE Title has already changed hands numerous times since November. Fans may lose interest if it switches twice more between now and 'Mania.
